扭蛋的前世今生 - 可擺放鎖匙，首飾等小物品

‘如果你要認真，你要做出尺寸大小一樣的作品。’老師說。

從此之後我常常在日常生活的物件中找出一些模具，可以讓我做出大小一樣的作品。這些模具，要有可塑性, 持久性而且不容易損壞。嘿！最後竟然在我家樓下的家樂福前面的扭蛋機找到答案。這些塑膠玩具。符合了我創作任何條件。最後我做了20件作品，但留下來的只有四件，為什麼？因為如果要認真就要做出大小一樣的作品。

Zoe，王小夏是一個移居台灣的香港人，畢業於皇家墨爾本藝術學院，主修繪畫，副修版畫雕塑和陶瓷。做陶瓷的過程一試難忘，常常懷念觸碰泥土的感覺。因為疫情失去了工作，諷刺的是, 是偶然，或者更是注定的機會下，重拾了做陶瓷的夢想。取名夏，是緣自香港已故作家西西的短篇小說’像我這樣的一個女子’裏的人物 - 夏- 他快樂，真誠，樂觀，堅持，臉上總掛大陽光的笑容，故取名夏。

夏善於利用各種不同的物料，以及在生活中尋找靈感，作品帶有一絲絲女性化，趣味和幽默。

The reincarnation of Gashapon - Can place small items

“ If you want to refine your skill, you need to be able to produce work with same sizes” my teacher once said. 

Since then I have been looking for molds that could help me to create uniform-sized works. The criteria were simple: malleable, sustainable and durable. Funny enough, the answer was right in front of me - at the Gashapon mechine outside the Carrefour near my home. These plastic toys were the perfect solution. The sphere shape offered endless possibilities, and its hard surface made it easy to work with.  I created 20 pieces in total but only 4 survived. Why? It is because ‘ you need to be able to produce work with same sizes.‘

Zoe draws inspiration from everyday utilitarian objects, reinventing them with a feminine touch by incorporating found materials such as fabrics and natural elements. Her work transforms the ordinary into something playful and humorous.

Her name, Xia (夏）comes from the character in belated Hong Kong writer XiXi’s short story A Girl Like Me (西西，像我這樣的一個女子) - a character who is joyful, sincere, optimistic and persistent, always wearing a sunny smile, thus the name 夏.
